Fools that they are, they’ve kept in part of the fairly significant but:

Well, I think Senator McCain’s absolutely right that we need more responsibility, but we need it not just when there’s a crisis.

In response to such blatant dishonesty, the Obama campaign should go one step further and cut words and phrases from debates and speeches to give entirely new views to McCain. This is how the ad would go:

Portentous Voiceover

We know that John McCain has a history of violence, but has he really changed?

John McCain

I’m going to fight…Senator Obama.

Portentous Voiceover

And we know that he’s had trouble in his marriages. Has this continued?

John McCain

I’m going…to cling…to…Ahmadinejad.

Portentous Voiceover

And with a temperament like that, does he really care about the American people?

John McCain

Look, we, no matter what, we’ve got to…eliminate…taxpayers.

Portentous Voiceover

John McCain: put him in a straight-jacket, not the Whitehouse.
