CIA Foreknowledge

The BBC on the 2nd of December…

“The US warned India about a possible threat at least a month before last week’s Mumbai attacks, US media have quoted unnamed officials as saying.

One senior US official also told the BBC there were “strong indications” that the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba group was behind the carnage.

CNN on the 2nd November…

“The United States warned the Indian government about a potential maritime attack against Mumbai at least a month before last week’s massacre in the country’s financial capital left nearly 180 dead, a U.S. counterterrorism official told CNN.

U.S. intelligence indicated that a group might enter the country by water and launch an attack on Mumbai, said the source, who refused to be identified due to the ongoing investigation into the attacks and the sensitivity of the information.”

Haaretz on the 2nd December…

“The revelation of U.S. involvement comes as the Indian government faces widespread accusations of security and intelligence failures after the attacks last week.”

Outlook India on the 29th of November

In mid-September this year, the CIA station chief in Delhi sought an urgent meeting with his counterpart in R&AW to pass on some critical inputs. This was part of an understanding that Indian and American intelligence had institutionalised in the aftermath of 9/11. From its assets in Pakistan and Afghanistan, American intelligence had come to learn that the Lashkar-e-Toiba was planning to launch a major terrorist attack in Mumbai, which would be carried out from the sea.”

Were The Mumbai Terrorists Trained By The Pakistan Navy, Or Is India/The Convict Spinning Us A Yarn?

India Today…

“Azam Amir, the terrorist who was held by the Mumbai Police, has made some striking revelations regarding the Mumbai terror attacks.

Azam has disclosed that the Pakistan Navy had trained the terrorists in boating and swimming to carry out the attacks in Mumbai. Azam was arrested on Wednesday from Girgaum Chowpatty in an encounter with the police. Ismail Khan, an accomplice of Amir, reportedly died in the gunbattle.

Sources say Azam has also revealed that people from gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s gang helped the terrorists from Karachi in organising the attacks.

Reports suggest that the planning for the terror attacks in Mumbai had begun almost a year ago in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.”

I must say that sceptical as to the nature of the latter piece. Why hire a fiery terrorist who’d promptly spill the whole scheme? And why would Pakistan commit one act in which it would be the foremost suspect? Either one side is coming under heavy influence or the whole thing’s total bull.

Very interesting piece. I have been following developments closely these past days. It is interesting the way the mainstream Western media just parrot each other. I think that some of the indian and pakistani media are trying to uncover irregularities in the stories.
Check out my recent story :)
